Write to FIFA’s sponsors
FIFA’s nine major sponsors put in many millions of dollars to the game – and that’s fantastic because we all love football – but they’re also helping to build the ‘Hypocrisy World Cup’.
On the one hand, FIFA sponsors say they uphold the rights of workers, and they believe in conducting business with integrity. But on the other hand, they also support an organisation which is unable or unwilling to put pressure on Qatar regarding the living conditions of the thousands of migrant workers operating in substandard living and working conditions; and which has a demonstrable record of not conducting its business in a transparent and accountable manner. We have been calling for an independent time-limited FIFA Reform Commission, led by an eminent person. We believe this is the only way the world can be confident that FIFA can begin to be the organisation that it should be. You can find out more in the Charter and Guiding Principles. The sponsors can make a difference. Please help us get genuine reform of FIFA, and better pay and conditions for Qatar’s migrant workers, by supporting these campaigns.
It’s our game. Let’s build a #NewFIFANow. |
